London fashion trends: Topshop Autumn/Winter Collection 2011

In the light of the beautiful weather in London during the last weeks probably most of the fashionistas don’t want to think about cozy autumn/winter fashion yet. Having a look at the latest Topshop collection might change your mind. The collection is divided in four seasonal topics which unite the main UK trends: Prim & Polished, Bavaria, New Mod and Glam Underground.

The Prim & Polished clothing line mixes girly colours with a touch of vintage. Knee-length dresses are combined with high-necked blouses to get the perfect dressing-up effect. Faux-fur collars and princess coats create a retro style with a serious dose of ladylike appeal.

Bavaria is a collection inspired by folk art. Detailed embroidery and floral prints embellish floaty silk blouses while chunky knits and oversized faux-fur pieces create a cozy contrast and a laidback feeling.

Get the boyfriend look with the New Mod style. Sleek tailoring, geometric patterns and granddad knits give the clothing line its rebellious charm. This season also unexpected fabric mixes are allowed. To get the perfect look feel free to wear wool coats with leather inserts or to match pencil skirts with polka dot shoes.

All-out glamour with rockstar appeal, that’s what the 70s were about. Topshop’s Glam Underground collection reinvents the favourite pieces of a shiny decade and revives animal prints, extravagant pompoms and silver glitter ankle boots. There is only one rule: The bigger and brighter, the better!

  1. Can’t wait to go to London someday and to spend all my money there! I love the Glam Underground Collection, especially the blue hat of the model 🙂
