This weekend Harrods and Swarovski unveiled “A Crystal Christmas” at Harrods, featuring a sparkling window decoration for the festive season.

The centrepiece of the windows at Harrods is a 230,000£ couture gown with more than 150,000 Swarovski crystals.

The Christmas Lighting at Selfridges London

Since this week London lightened up for the Christmas season. Shops decorated their windows with Christmas trees, reindeers, angels and presents for the festive time. The degrees of taste vary.

In London’s Bond Street some stores decorated their shop windows with tacky and flashing lights which partly really hurt my eyes. Others show more sense of style and put their products in the best possible light.

Christmas Lighting at Selfridges

My absolute favourite Christmas shop windows are the ones at Selfridges. They are a festiveness itself and looking at the shiny decoration feels like already being in winter wonderland.

The whole decoration is kept in pure white and the plain illumination wounded around the pillars and fit branches highlights the pompous building.

London fashion trends: Topshop Autumn/Winter Collection 2011

In the light of the beautiful weather in London during the last weeks probably most of the fashionistas don’t want to think about cozy autumn/winter fashion yet. Having a look at the latest Topshop collection might change your mind. The collection is divided in four seasonal topics which unite the main UK trends: Prim & Polished, Bavaria, New Mod and Glam Underground.

The Prim & Polished clothing line mixes girly colours with a touch of vintage. Knee-length dresses are combined with high-necked blouses to get the perfect dressing-up effect. Faux-fur collars and princess coats create a retro style with a serious dose of ladylike appeal.
